In 1970, the year of birth of Heavy Metal, also the girl Hera is born in a remote Icelandic village. She spends a happy childhood with her parents and her beloved older brother Baldur, until Baldur dies in an accident at work. Hera is just twelve at that time – too young to cope with this loss. She withdraws from her friends, wearing Baldur’s T-shirts from now on, playing his bass guitar and dreams to become a famous rock star in the city. She more and more lives in the dark world of heavy metal; otherwise she provokes everyone who comes near her. This changes initially when the new minister shows an interest in her music ...
